If it's only in the morning, it could just be normal brake noise. I get it too when I leave the emergency brake on overnight. If it keeps squealing all day it could be something else. Hopefully it's just morning sickness from not being driven Cool

I say it's probably normal brake noise for an STi.

Your cars have a higher metallic brake (high Mu) pad than normal Imprezas and WRXs. This lends itself to better stopping power, resistance to brake fade (massive calipers and rotors), increased driver braking feel and modulation. Downsides to this are NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) aka: squeal/squeak, more brake dust, and accelerated wear to pads and rotors.

If brake squeak is what you are hearing, it's most likely because overnight, the pads (high metallic content) and rotors oxidize (rust) most especially in our humid climate and moreso when it rains. The next consecutive drive causes this rust (on pad and rotor) to emit high pitched noise as you begin to drive, most especially during your initial movement. Once this is "worn in" after applying your brakes a few times it goes away or is reduced.....at least until the next time you allow the car to sit and cool in which the oxidation will occur yet again.

Audible noise like this is a trade-off for higher performance brakes along with accelerated rotor wear. You get better stopping power with these bad boy Brembos and have been told by someone on here that the noise can be reduced by installing certain aftermarket brake pads. This may reduce noise but I'm almost certain there is a trade-off in performance/brake dust etc. Brakes are a fine balance between stopping power, brake dust acceptance, and NVH.

As a precaution you should ask Prestige if this is normal and if a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) exists which addresses this concern and they may have an optional brake pad/parts to help alleviate some of it's displeasing attributes but with some performance trade-off. As long as it's not occurring throughout your drive or gets louder as you drive you should be fine.

Yeah the subie likes to talk in it's own unique squeaky, creaking, banging ways. I just drive faster and listen to my exhaust notes Twisted Evil
