Re: Feb 15 Autox Event Results
Brian, I am working on the timing issues. Maybe we have another computer next to the timing system and inputting the results as they happen on a spread sheet and then it is printed out and posted/distributed this is how it was done in the SCCA race I went to, very professionally done. The results you see are based on what is written on the board.
I apologize

Re: Feb 15 Autox Event Results
Eric is doing some research of the timing system. From the schematics, it is possible to use the display as a stand alone timer. The sensors connect directly to the display, once a car crosses the sensors, the timer built in the display will start counting and will stop when the sensors are crossed again. There is supposedly a reset button that came with the display.
If this direction works, it could be a better interim solution to remove the computer out of the timing equation for now due to obvious reasons. In essence, the whole system is only used as a stopwatch and the results are hand-written on the board.
I guess its up to GRSCCA whether to implement this or not, provided the hardware is still in operable condition and all parts are still present with the display.

I knew you ran quicker Brian hmmmmm, more reason to have an automated timing system that logs our times into a spreadsheet & outputs the data in each class & by quickest to slowest format with a history of all races to date for more transparent statistics.

Sounds viable. Nice attention to detail. Anxious to see outcome of this research.

Go SCG! I was sloppy this last session but I did learn a whole bit more about my car and the tires; these Star Specs have a narrow window for "sidewall roll-over" and I'm beginning to notice when they want more air; just a matter of how much air & when to compensate. I'll be happy to show our group what I mean on the next outing but overall, these tires are the shiznit! thus far NO adjustments to the alignment and set-up since tires were installed aside from the sway-bars & links; doing this on purpose for a control base so I can see what effects take place & I can help with set-up in the future for our group.
