Re: 2009 Monsoon Race Series
I don't think it's to late to register. I think the only reason for the early registration is to see how many participants are going to be racing this month. But if you still want to join just give Jhay you chosen number (#000). Race starts on the 13th.

Hey Kev, join the race this coming sunday the more participants the better...let's support the sport and our club, don't let your kick ass magnets go to waste let's use them it's my first time too...the more of our club members participating the better it would be..this goes to all SCG members go out there and show your support even if you are not racing...bring your chairs don't forget.

Re: 2009 Monsoon Race Series
I'll be there representing SCG as usual with our awesome magnetic numbers thanks to iConnect and Central Sign Tech
FYI, I leave for Japan that afternoon at 4:30 which means that I'll only be running up until 2:30 or so to S.S.S. and get to the airport on-time I guess that 's better than missing the first historic S.C.C.A. sanctioned G.R.S.C.C.A. event!
C'mon out guys and gals, support your local Subaru club at autocross!

It would be nice to be able to predict the number of racers ahead of time but it is never too late if you are at the day of the event before 10:00 AM

Re: 2009 Monsoon Race Series
^^^^I've got a spare helmet you can borrow, I just ask that you use a balaclava to keep it sweat free
We should arrange to meet up with other SCG members. I can put a little "clinic" together with projector and footage from our recent test-n-tune to critique some "things" I see and can help improve how we negotiate the courses. How's that for a tech-tip get-together?!?! Just need a venue with a large white wall and quiet place to play our clips via PC and a white-board to write some ideas down to critique.
I leave for training on that day (Sunday 13th)and my time is precious these coming days, seriously. If we can swing a Thursday night somewhere from about 6-8 or so I'm game. I just have to be home by 9 and NO LATER!!!! Ideas anyone?
The only other thing I would need is the course map from that test-n-tune event (several copies) so eveyone can take notes on it and I can point out key areas to pay attention to and help with future course attacks.

I think we can do this at our place in Macheche, better coz it's close to Jesse's house. I'm off work at 6pm so maybe I'll be home at 6:30pm then we can start at 6:45pm to 8:45pm. This would serve as a small meeting too for what we have to do on the Sept. 13 setup. The place is a clutter but there is a big a** white wall perfect for a projector showing. Parking no problem. I can offer some drinks and popcorn. Strictly clinic and meet so only a couple hours of your time, everybody out no later than 9pm.

Re: 2009 Monsoon Race Series
House directions: 236 Lemon China St. Macheche
On Marine drive coming from the flea market, turn right on kfc dededo then go straight when you reach Macheche Mart turn left then go all the way at the end it will be a 3way. Turn left and then you will see a 2 storey house on your right that's my place. There is a dirt road on the right going up. You can park at the grassy area around the house and if I'm there already I'll open the gates so that some of you can park inside the lot. If lost call me at 8880163.
So far there are 3 of us who's ok to go this coming thursday Sept. 10, 2009 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Hope the others would confirm thru this thread.

Alright! Thanks 'E' for the venue, really close to home helps out I'll bring my sMac & projector, just need outlets and big @ss white wall. Maps would be great, any help with this is appreciated; maps of the test-n-tune course we did.
Maybe attendees bring your own chairs I'm assuming this is an outside venue, correct 'E'? If so, hopefully no rain.
I could use some help from others in SCG that have experiences they can share, set-up info, etc. any help is appreciated.
J
Re: 2009 Monsoon Race Series
This would be indoors J so no worries about the rain. No aircon though, only an electric fan and I'll just open doors and windows for better air circulation. There are some chairs downstairs, but if you could bring your own that would be fine in case we need it. So I think this would be a go for we have enough people that responded to the thread. If somebody has a whiteboard kindly bring it. Thanks see you all on thursday at around 6:30pm.

^^ great 'E'. Sounds like a good plan.
Jay, do you have the course map for that event? Can you email it to me please so I can print for reference?
Lastly, does anyone have a Mac DVI to VGA adapter I could borrow for this night please?

Re: 2009 Monsoon Race Series
^^ Thanks for the offer 'Jo' but that's for a windows PC I need the Apple DVI to VGA converter for Mac like this http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8754G/A
If not I'll have to work something out and convert the vids...but would rather just use the Mac to speed-up set-up and presentation because we have most of the multimedia handled already: iMac, projector, ancillaries, and BIG @ss white wall...just need adapter
