COBB SF Intake Empty COBB SF Intake

Had a COBB SF Intake installed in a 07 STI. Old air box and filter assembly had to be removed completely, but air inlet hose still there to help bring air in.

Intake came with mounting bracket and screws. Intake has an opening for the stock MAF (mass air filter), and screws tightly in place. Finish and construction are good. One solid thick plastic tube with removable cone filter. Unique feature is the channeling inside to reduce air turbulence, which can mess up the MAF reading.

Look the new sound. At low RPM no real sound difference, but at open throttle it sounds like a jet engine sucking in air. When you shift there is a blow off valve sound, because air is no longer restricted and quieted by an intake air box.

Low RPM performance seems the same. Mid range open throttle seems more responsive, really good when in mid RPM and you wanna pass a car. Wide open throttle is a blast. The high end is there now and it's very responsive to throttle modulation.

It's a lot less expensive than a SPT intake or a K&N Typhoon. It shouldn't void a warranty if installed correctly. I don't usually endorse things, but this is a GOOD BUY.

Finally, COBB Tuning has been around for a long time and their SUBARU research and development is top notch.

Next time I fly by, you'll see how good a product this can be...Shooto

Right on...COBB products are always a good buy and glad to hear your wrenching on your car! If there is no bogging and response is as good as stock then install went smooth..otherwise you can disconnect negative side of battery for 10 seconds or so...reconnect and drive giving time for ecu to learn or re-learn the MAF reading and should be fine from there...Solid...next up COBB stage 2 kit?????

Battery was disconnected and ECU reset, just like my old Integra geek Like the shoes on the avatar
