intake direct flow bypass
hey guys here is that intake air thing i was talking about...
inside the passenger fender there is this giant thing that directs the air from the front of the car into the fender than to the intake box....
but the air has to travel so far it'll be warm by the time its in the intake box... so this thing is to make it a quicker transport...

What was your question directed towards T?
Those OEM chambers are usually there for a couple reasons:
The OEM intake tract volume is optimized so that low speed intake noise is reduced and a loud droning noise isn't heard so much (NVH - Noise Vibration and Harshness).
Sometimes this volume is "tuned" so that the natural harmonics of the intake tract help convey the air column into the engine under varied load conditions.
The factory engineers obviously saw value in the resources it takes to make these parts and we usually just ditch them the first chance we get. After all, noise is what we're after to hear our machines and add to the experience

Re: intake direct flow bypass
no real questions j...i just wanted to let all know i have installed this...this is from PROVA and suppose to be stock JDM...but not sure about that...PROVA does make some very nice JDM parts...currently i have not felt any issues or heard anything weird..i can hear the intake a little more than stock...but i know zj and some others just completely removed the air intake silencer tank...i think thats wat OEM calls it...so i just put this up cuz i think its a better why to direct air into the intake box than just removing it...
